Spending time with my daughter

My daughter Alora had Friday off, and she asked me to watch a movie with her. So I sat down with her and we watched a movie and then I got up to go back to things around the house. I could see that she was sad so I sat down with her and asked her what’s wrong. She said that she wanted to spend more time with me so I decided that the laundry, dishes, and work in my office could wait.

We spent the day together watching movies, making crafts and just talking. It made me realize how important it is to spend time with her and the other stuff could wait for the evening or when she was in school.  At the end of the day, just before bed she came up to me and said, “Mommy this is the best day that I’ve ever had with you in a while!” I gave her a big hug and told her that I loved spending the day with her and that we would have to do this more often and she agreed.

It’s easy to forget how important it is to spend time with your child because you’re so busy doing all the other things around the house but on Friday my daughter made me realize what is important in life.  Even Mom’s need a reminded about what is important and she did.

All I have to say is to enjoy every minute of your daughter growing up because the time flys by so quickly. My daughter turned 18 on april 26,and I can’t believe she is graduating this year. Its crazy!!I feel sooo old.Sometimes its not the big things its the little things you do together that really count, and video tape everything possible as your daughter grows. It makes a great memory to look back on. :-] Thanks for following me,I will do the same
