Bergamot – Citrus bergamia Essential Oil

December 4, 2014 By enjoywellbeing Leave a Comment

BergamontI love the power of plant essences!  And, I love Bergamot Essential Oil.

According to goDesana – a Green Organics International Company — research verifies Bergamot’s capacity for restoring emotional balance and, in the process, enhancing the efficacy of treatments for depression and anxiety disorders. It is soothing and grounding to those who are anxious or overly stimulated, yet uplifting and stabilizing to individuals suffering from depression challenges.

Bergamot is regularly used to generate a fresh, delightfully citrus flavor to foods. It produces a marvelous synergy when used sparingly in green tea to create a pleasant anti-inflammatory and detoxifying beverage. goDesana also states that Bergamot Essential Oil can also be helpful in easing digestive issues such as gastritis, colitis, constipation, ulcers, and esophagitis as Bergamot is a potent stimulant to the stomach, spleen, and liver.

Its antiseptic and diuretic qualities make Bergamot a highly beneficial aid with urinary tract infections and cystitis. These same qualities make it helpful with many types of skin problems including prematurely aging skin, oily skin and hair, acne, cold sores, skin infections, eczema, psoriasis, itching, and insect bites.

Bergamot can be used as a mouthwash or gargle to ease mouth ulcers and infection (including sore throat), sweeten bad breath, and reduce inflammation.

With a pleasant and uplifting aroma, coupled with its remarkable ability to soothe the emotions, it’s not surprising that Bergamot has earned the title ”Nature’s Prozac” in the aromatherapy world.

Statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Enjoy this great bath salt recipe that includes Bergamot Essential Oil. It helps relieve tension.
